After 25 remarkable years ministering at Saint Luke School, Sr. Grace Augustine Canevari, OP, recently began a new ministry at St. Frances de Chantal School in the Bronx.
“Going to a new ministry after Saint Luke was going to be different, but I find my new ministry welcoming. I am pleased that I can work with children. I am very grateful to the good Lord for all of these blessings,” shared Sr. Grace.

The General Council of the Adrian Dominican Sisters issued the following statement in response to the unfolding events January 6 at the U.S. Capitol Building.
Like other Americans around the country, we are horrified by the events at the Capitol, iconic home of our nation’s representative government. As soon as this insurrection is quelled, we urge all members of Congress to act immediately to confirm the results of the Electoral College as certified by every State.

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Concordia have long offered one-on-one spiritual direction, with the sisters and staff of Manna House of Prayer also offering directed retreats on a variety of topics.
However, the threat of Covid 19 has made most in-person meetings impossible or impractical. The sisters at Manna House quickly assessed the situation and began offering both spiritual direction and many of their retreats virtually.
The Missionary Servants of the Most Blessed Trinity will be hosting an online discernment retreat, January 29th and 30th for single women, ages 18+ that are considering religious life. Join MSBT sisters in prayer, reflection and hear MSBT sistres share their stories on mission.
Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat has closed due to covid, but we now offer online retreats and free online community outreach events. The Prairie Retreat theme for 2021 is “Living Lightly on Earth.” We will embrace and explore how we can care for Earth and take action to change the climate crisis we are in. While many people would describe the months passed since March as challenging, Cathy Trapp, an Associate of the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, New York, viewed this time as an “awakening.”
For Cathy, a mother and grandmother, these past eight months have helped her focus on aspects of life that are often taken for granted, as well as gain a deeper appreciation for community and God’s blessing, even during difficult times.

Several Associates of the Sisters of Saint of Dominic of Blauvelt joined the Sparkill Dominican Associates to participate in the Pajama Project to provide warm pairs of pajamas and books to children in need in the Hudson Valley, ages ranging from newborn to 12 years old.
The Pajama Project, whose mission is to “promote and support a comforting bedtime routine for all children to help them thrive,” provides “cozy pajamas, inspiring storybooks, and critical resources for parents and caregivers.”

To say Sr. Noreen Walsh’s ministry keeps her busy would be an understatement.
As Health Care Coordinator for the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, Sr. Noreen's responsibilities involve “working closely with sisters on a one to one basis.”
Sr. Noreen further explained, “I provide guidance, support, and advice to sisters with complex medical issues and navigate through medical care scenarios that involve different doctors and treatment methods.”

Last week, the Dominican Sisters in Committed Collaboration (OPSCC) announced the formation of a new Fratelli Tutti study group, open to sisters, associates, and friends of the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, New York.
The Fratelli Tutti study group will allow participants to virtually gather, read, and pray together throughout November, with the hope of building an understanding and commitment to relationships of respect, dignity, care, and justice.

The Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, New York, Associate Program is an extraordinary one that brings together many wonderful women and men of faith bonded together by the Dominican mission.
For Ellen Nash, the Blauvelt Dominican Associate Program has empowered her “to be a leader and openly share my spirituality.”
In March, S. Barbara Schwarz found herself hospitalized from Covid-19. Even today, she continues to heal from the virus' effects on her. She, therefore, finds it delightful that, although she has been busy with "the ministry of healing", the Holy Spirit has made her look very busy as of late with various projects coming to light.

For Eileen Foti, an Associate of the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Blauvelt, New York, 2020 has been a year of pause and prayer.
Like many others, Eileen has had to significantly shift her daily responsibilities and activities to deal with the COVID-19 fallout.
Besides not being able to frequent restaurants and other small businesses, Eileen and her husband Charlie have utilized technology to watch weekly masses online.
Sister Teresa Huong Thi Nguyen professed final vows as a Sister of Providence in a liturgy on Sunday, Oct. 11, at Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church, Tukwila, Wash.
Due to pandemic health and safety requirements, Sister Huong’s ceremony was limited in size and attendees were masked and socially distant. The customary reception was postponed.
