Online Evening Prayer with Young Adults

The North American Vocation Team (NAVT) of the School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) invites young adults ages 18 and older to a monthly online evening prayer on select Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST (7 p.m. CST) via Zoom. Cheruto Cynthia Bundi and Jessica Sun were welcomed as Candidates for vowed membership during the Eastern Region Autumn Assembly liturgy on Saturday, September 24, 2023. It was a celebration filled with joy and a sense of hope for our present and future.  Congregation Leader Sister Andrea Nenzel welcomed Cheruto and Jessica in a simple ritual during the liturgy, held in the St. Michael Villa Chapel in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey.

Often there is reluctance to even bring up such topics.

Human Trafficking and College Campuses Webinar

Sept. 13

For some, attending college is a pivotal time that involves meeting new people and testing the waters of independence. It can also be a time of increased vulnerability. In addition to the disproportionately higher rates of sexual assaults occurring on college campuses, there is also the risk of sex trafficking. In some instances, it is also a time when some learn about human trafficking in their classes and decide to become anti-trafficking advocates. U.S. Catholic Sisters Against Human Trafficking will hold a webinar on Sept. 13 at 1 p.m.

Franciscan Spirituality Program

Delve deeply into the heart of Franciscan spirituality with a monthly discussion of In the Footsteps of Francis and Clare by Roch Niemier, OFM, with the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart, Frankfort, IL. Beginning on Wednesday, September 13, the program will be held in the Assisi Center, 9201 W. St. Francis Road, 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Gatherings will continue monthly on the second Wednesday through May 2024.

Sacred Journey to Peace

With a focus on Franciscan spirituality, we invite you to journey with us on a pilgrimage to the sacred spaces at St. Francis Woods, the campus of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart in Frankfort, IL. For those with physical limitations, the same program will be replicated indoors in our auditorium. Participants are asked to meet in the Motherhouse Library at 3:00 p.m. on September 10.

Our hope is that this journey will not be just a pleasant experience, but a call to learn and live as God desires.
